UFCW 1400 - XL Foods Ltd. - Locked Out
On September 21, 2009 - 140 members of UFCW 1400 who were scheduled to return to work after a lengthy lay-off on September 28, were given notice of "lock out" by their employer XL Foods of Moose Jaw. The company has tried to use the lay-off and now the lock out to intimidate these workers and gain concessions at the bargaining table.
These workers need our help! If you are in Moose Jaw take time to join them on the picket line at 555 - 24th Avenue N.W. The plant is located on the west side of the city.
They also need financial assistance. In some cases both spouses work at XL Foods.
