New Essential Services Legislation Takes a Step Forward But Another Step Backward


Working people across Saskatchewan were concerned today to learn that the provincial government’s plan for a new so-called “essential services” law includes taking a significant step backwards in terms of its scope. Instead of limiting the broad scope of the original law, the new bill seems to expand the scope even further, to the point that it now interferes with the rights of some working people in the private sector.
