October 3, 2011 - The SFL Mourns the Passing of Nancy Riche
Working people across Saskatchewan and across the county are mourning today the passing of Nancy Riche. Riche, a tireless advocate for the rights of working people and a determined activist for the rights of women, has left a proud legacy that people throughout the nation will commemorate.
Every December 6th, since one tragic day in 1989 when 14 women were killed at the École Polytechnique in Montréal, Canadians come together both to remember those who were lost and to pledge action to end violence against women.
Working people across Saskatchewan were concerned today to learn that the provincial government’s plan for a new so-called “essential services” law includes taking a significant step backwards in terms of its scope.
